Ryan Cook is the Founder and Owner of Esoterik Guitars and the Master Luthier behind the design and building process of these instruments. He's been playing guitar since he was 12 years old and has been designing and manufacturing guitars since he was a teenager with some of the best guitar manufacturers in the world before branching off and creating his own company. He has over 27 years of guitar making experience and has worked with many high-end manufacturers including KB Custom Guitars, Ernie Ball Music Man, and National Reso-Phonic Guitars. While making guitars with these companies, he has figured out what works and what doesn’t work in guitar design and functionality. He has also developed techniques to enhance important attributes in the final products overall look, feel, sound, balance and playability. Ryan Cook has also played guitar in many different bands since he was a teenager and knows what works best on stage, at home, and in the studio.
Neck through designs are found in true high-end stringed instruments. The whole guitar is stronger and can handle more abuse. The neck woods extend from the headstock (with no scarf joint) through the center of the body. This is where the majority of the instrument's tone is created. This feature helps produce unmatched tone and sustain. This also keeps the instruments in tune and intonated better and keeps smooth continuous playability when reaching the high notes without interference of a clumsy heel or bolt on neck.
